Los Alamos Medical Center is a community hospital located in the beautiful mountain community of Los Alamos, NM, surrounded by the Jemez Mountains. Position Summary:

  • Performs care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  • Documents patient care accurately.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living such as hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.
  • Coordinates with other disciplines for patient transfer, discharge, referral, and psychosocial support.
  • Provides education to patients and families tailored to their needs.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently, and handle stressful environments.
  • Certifications: Current BLS; ACLS and PALS/ENPC within specified timeframes; ability to obtain required certifications within 90 days.
  • Licenses: Valid NM RN license or appropriate compact license.
