Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital in Port St. Lucie, FL, is seeking a PRN ICU Registered Nurse to join the team for night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM). You will provide direct nursing care, monitor patients, administer medications, and educate families as part of a collaborative ICU team within the Cleveland Clinic system.

The role requires current RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and critical care experience or military RN experience, with a preference for BSN and NIH Stroke Scale certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
• One year of current critical care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience
• Completion of a Critical Care Course or validated OJT for critical care settings
• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification – if you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Tradition Hospital

Sees patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries and complex medical conditions. When providing critical care, nothing is more important than teamwork. As an RN, you will work alongside dedicated CTs, TCCs, RNs, physicians and other caregivers to ensure patients receive the best possible emergency attention and constant monitoring throughout treatment. In this role, you can leave a meaningful impact on patients, their families and the community every day. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering your education, committee participation and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills even further.

A PRN caregiver in this position works varying nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross
• One year of current critical care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience
• Completion of a Critical Care Course or validated OJT for critical care settings

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification – if you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
