Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Euclid Hospital is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for the 7:00 PM–7:30 AM night shift in an ICU unit. You will provide direct nursing care, monitor patient conditions, implement care plans, coordinate multidisciplinary care, and support families and visitors.

Minimum qualifications include RN licensure, BLS, ACLS upon hire or within one year, and 2 years of related nursing experience for external candidates. BSN preferred; dynamic, team-focused care environment.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in the state of Ohio or eligible to obtain.
• BLS certification required; ACLS within one year of hire or upon hire if already certified.
• Minimum two years of related nursing experience for external candidates; internal candidates reviewed per policy.

Euclid Hospital's 12-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) specializes in the care of patients with major medical, cardiac and surgical diagnoses. The ICU strives to provide excellent care in an atmosphere that is caring and comforting not only for patients, but also families, loved ones and caregivers. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. For an experienced RN, this unit is a breath of fresh air compared other ICUs, as it has a highly connected team that works together even when very busy.

A PRN caregiver in this position works varying nights from 7:00PM - 7:30AM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care.

• Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
• Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN Program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of employment
• External candidates: two years of recent related nursing experience
• Internal candidates with less than two years of experience, but are post-orientation/90-day probationary period, may be considered with CNO level review and approval
• Licensed military RN experience will be considered

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $43.00

Maximum hourly: $43.00
