Carilion Clinic in Christiansburg, Virginia is seeking an RN I in Cardiology for the New River Valley. This full-time, day-shift role provides individualized patient care for diverse ages, coordinates care with the health team, and documents in the EMR to support accurate records and smooth patient flow.

Education: nursing program graduate; Licensure: Virginia RN license or eligibility; Life Support: BLS required with potential ACLS/PALS/NRP depending on unit.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of professional nursing.
• Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• AHA BLS-HCP required; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required based on unit.
• Keyboarding skills and computer literacy, including EMR usage.

Responsibilities

• Provides individualized patient care and coordinates care delivery for patients of all ages.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.

As a registered nurse, you are expected to consistently deliver the best in care and customer service and demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with our patients, their families, visitors, and with each other. As part of the health care team, RNs assume primary accountability for nursing coordination and provision of individualized care for patients of all ages. The registered nurse also utilizes delegation and critical thinking skills to provide quality service through a team oriented, collaborative approach to patient care.

This position is full time, working Monday-Friday 8a-5p

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus when successful candidate meets applicable guidelines.

What We Require

Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursing required.

Experience: None.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.

Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records.

Career Advancement Program: RNs are eligible to participate in the Career Advancement Program (CAP) to attain various levels of advancement based on performance criteria.

Compensation

$27.70 - $41.55

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
