Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD seeks an experienced RN to oversee patient care across day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. The role functions as the off-shift management representative, supervising staff, allocating resources, and ensuring safe, efficient patient care.

You will supervise and develop nursing staff, review policies, coordinate staffing, and address patient or family concerns while upholding Avera’s CARE values and mission.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing; active license in the state of practice upon hire.
• BSN preferred; supervisory or management experience is a plus.
• Experience supervising nursing staff and coordinating patient care.

Responsabilités

• Supervises and directs patient care with consideration of staff competency and skill levels.
• Serves as a resource for staff on policy, procedures, and risk management concerns.
• Monitors staffing levels and coordinates staffing plans to meet patient volume.
• Coordinates utilization of resources and facilitates patient placement/throughput.
• Investigates patient and family or staff concerns and initiates follow-up actions.
• Demonstrates accountability and uses nursing process in goal-focused care.
• Interprets administrative policies in the absence of administrative staff.
• Involves interviewing, hiring, training, and retaining employees; performance appraisals.
