Responsibilities

  • The House Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who assumes administrative responsibility for managing all department service functions during their shift.
  • Conducts frequent rounds throughout the facility to monitor care delivery, oversee service quality, and direct patient care activities as needed.
  • Supervises, supports, and communicates with all staff across the hospital.
  • In the absence of hospital administrative staff, extends administrative scope and responsibilities to all hospital services.
  • Ensures efficient operations and patient flow throughout the hospital.
  • Performs direct patient care as needed, within the scope of practice and competence.
  • Ensures all temporary agency personnel are properly deployed and oriented according to hospital policy.
  • Assists medical staff with scheduling after-hours procedures and calling in standby call staff.
  • Enhances the patient and family experience through supportive interactions and clear explanations of hospital policies.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current BLS certification upon hire and maintain current certification.
  • ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current certification.
  • Preferred: One (1) year of prior experience as a Supervisor.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of acute care nursing experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
