Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center in Missouri is seeking a Clinical Nurse (RN) for the Minimally Invasive PCU/IMU. This 28-bed unit cares for post-operative and intermediate care patients, with day and night shifts and a sign-on bonus eligible up to $15,000.

As a Bariatric Center of Excellence, we provide specialized care for bariatric surgery patients and other minimally invasive procedures.

Qualifications

• Nursing diploma or associate's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards.
• Promotes patient- and family-centered care in a healing environment and educates patients on post-treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Develops, implements, and documents care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient/family.
• Proactively plans and communicates the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs.
