Job summary

Sedgwick County Health Center in Colorado seeks a Registered Nurse to join our unit, covering two night shifts and one day shift per week. The base pay starts at $39/hour plus a $1,000/month stipend, with potential for additional compensation for years of service.

Under the direction of the CNO, you will deliver high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population, document care, and participate in discharge planning while maintaining safety standards.

• Maintain skills to work with patients.

Position Summary

Salary Range:

• NEW! $1,000/mo stipend* Paid in $500 increments over two pay periods/month
• $39/base pay + additional compensation for years of service

Under the direction of the CNO (Department Director) delivers quality nursing care to patients, newborn to geriatric, on an assigned unit.Assures that patient/family needs are met.Provides for open communication within the unit, with patients, families, physicians, other units and departments. Demonstrates knowledge of patient/staff safety measures.Builds and maintains positive professional relationships.

• Carries out patient care according to hospital policies and procedures functioning within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act.

• Strong communicationskills and ability to explain medical issues in bothlayman'sand medical terms.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations including medical emergencies and communicating with patients and their families.

Education and Certification Requirements

• Must be currently licensed to practice as an R.N. in the State of Colorado.

Physical Requirements

• Reaching, bending lifting more than 25lbs.,grasping, fine motor skills, pushing and pulling.Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Well-lit, ventilated, temperature-controlled environment.Possible hazardsinclude a busy and stressful environment, long hours, and exposure to bio-hazardous waste, body fluids, chemicals, electrical devices, toxic waste, needles, and moving machinery.
