Qualifications

• RN candidate must graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• RN license required with active licensure.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Provide oncology/hematology nursing care on 8 North telemetry unit.
• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, and supportive therapies.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes in telemetry with timely interventions.

Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.

Why Oncology/Hematology?

This 38-bed Telemetry Monitored Nursing Unit Provides The Opportunity To Work With a Wide Variety Of Patients Ranging In Age From Adults To Geriatrics. The Conditions That Are Within The Scope Of Service For 8 North Include But Are Not Limited To The Following:

• Medical Oncology
• High Dose Chemotherapy with Autologous Stem Cell Transplant
• CAR T Cell Therapy
• Administration of Chemotherapy, Biotherapy, and Monoclonal Antibodies
• Surgical Oncology
• Gynecologic Oncology
• Administration of Radiation Therapy
• Hematologic Disorders (Sickle Cell Crisis, Aplastic Anemia, Thalassemia, Thrombocytopenia)
• Continuous Cardiac Monitoring (Telemetry)
