Job summary

Empath Health is seeking an RN PRN to join our hospice team in southwest Florida. The shift runs 8:00 PM to 8:30 AM with a minimum of 64 hours per month, and the RN will float to hospice houses in Village on the Isle, Venice, Port Charlotte and Arcadia.

Responsibilities include coordinating patient/family needs, providing terminally ill care, supervising LPNs or aides, and delivering quality care across settings as required.

Qualifications

• Active Florida RN license.
• Valid Florida Driver's License.
• 1 year nursing experience; terminally ill care preferred; acute/post-acute care experience valued.

Empath Health is currently seeking an RN PRN to join our team.

This shift: 8pm-8:30am and provides a minimum of 64 hours/month of availability. This individual will fill in at hospice houses in Village on the Isle, Venice, Port Charlotte and Arcadia.

What you'll Do:

• Is responsible for identifying and coordinating patient/family needs and for providing preventive and supportive care to the terminally ill patient/family unit.

• Utilizes assessment, intervention and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and to enhance the quality of life to the patient/family unit.

• Provides oversight and supervision of the LPN and/or aide for the delivery of patient care in the GIP environment. The RN reports to Patient/Family Care Coordinator/Care Center Manager.

• Required to float if needed.

What You'll Need

• Bedside hospital, ICU, ER or other inpatient experience within the past 10 years.

• Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Minimum of or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Licensure:

• Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse

• Valid Florida State Driver's License

• Minimum of 1 year of current active nursing experience; with experience in caring for terminally ill patients or those with life threatening illnesses preferred; prefer one (1) year experience in an acute or post acute care setting.
