Location: Hospice House in Bend, Oregon.
Compensation: $40.00-$ 57.64 (DOE). Differentials $5/hour nights & $2/hour weekend shifts.
Sign-on Bonus: $2,000 (paid after 90 days of employment)
Full-Time (36 hours/week, 3-12 hr shifts per week).
Option 1:
Friday & Saturday Split Shift + One Weekday Night Shift.
- Split Shift: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM.
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
Option 2:
Sunday & Monday Split Shift + One Weekday Night Shift.
- Split Shift: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM.
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
Option 3:
Part-Time (24 hrs per week, 2-12 hr shifts per week).
Every other Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday- Split Shift
- Split Shift: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM.
What You Get To Do: The Hospice House RN is responsible for delivering direct nursing care, educating patients and their families, and providing emotional support in our inpatient Hospice House. The RN plays a key role in managing individualized care plans, coordinating with interdisciplinary team members, and ensuring comfort and dignity for patients at the end of life.
- Apply nursing principles and techniques in the treatment of patients. Provide nursing care, emotional support, and patient/family/ caregiver education. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, family, and caregiver information.
- Is responsible for the implementation and continued development of the patient care plan and physician's plan of treatment and is responsible for the patient's case management.
- Follow the guidelines for universal precautions when providing patient care and demonstrate proper techniques in the application of infection control standards.
- Maintain records of services performed and of the apparent condition of the patient, using documentation guidelines and standards set forth by the organization.
- Communicate with physicians and others as needed to coordinate and ensure high-quality care. Communicate on a regular basis with all staff/volunteers regarding patient status.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the dying process and recognize the importance of maintaining professional boundaries.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon Registered Nurse License.
- Ability to pass a background test, drug screen, and TB test.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- One to two years of recent medical care experience in an institutional setting is preferred. Ideal candidates will possess 1-2 years of home health or hospice experience.
- Current automobile insurance is required. A valid Oregon driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Valid CPR Certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
