Gentiva Hospice seeks an Executive Director Specialist – RN to join our leadership team. This role acts as the administrator on call and oversees operations across multiple sites, ensuring high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance.

The ED Specialist will lead hospice teams, manage budgets with full P&L responsibility, and travel extensively (70–100%) to support on-site operations and performance improvement. You will mentor staff and drive Medicare/state adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• BSN or higher degree in nursing.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in hospice or home health.
• Current California RN license.
• Experience with Medicaid/Medicare regulations and reimbursement.
• Strong understanding of hospice operations and regulatory compliance.
• Able to work independently and travel frequently.
• Effective communicator with strong decision-making and time management skills.
• Highly proficient with technology and digital platforms.
• Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and commitment to quality care.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Administrator on record at assigned hospice agencies.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations including staffing, compliance, patient services, and performance improvement.
• Drive clinical quality and ensure services meet Medicare Conditions of Participation, state hospice regulations, and Gentiva standards.
• Lead, coach, and support hospice care teams to meet patient-centered goals.
• Manage operational budgets with full P&L responsibility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure smooth transitions and sustainable team performance.
• Travel 70% to 100% throughout the region to provide onsite leadership.
