Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital is seeking an RN to join the Cardiology General team. The role involves direct patient and family interactions, education, and delivering high-quality nursing care during the patient journey.

You will provide diagnostic and therapeutic care, assess patients, perform procedures, and coordinate discharge planning with the health care team. A supportive environment at a Magnet-certified facility offers career growth and stability.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure.
• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.
• ACLS certification from AHA or Red Cross (upon hire or within 6 months).
• One year of RN experience, or RN with 2+ years of LPN experience in the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services.
• Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings, notify physicians of abnormal findings.
• Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
• Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
• Establish care plans with patients, families, and the health care team.
• Coordinate ongoing care and discharge planning.
• Evaluate and maintain standards of care.
• Educate patients and families.
• Cover other nursing roles in the department.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings.
• Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.

• Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
• Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
• Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
• Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
• Educate patients and families.
• Cover other nursing roles in the department.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing(ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse(RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross upon hire or within six months of hire
• One year of recent experience as an RN
• OR licensed RN with at least two years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic proceduraldepartment

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• BSN
• Two years of recent experience as an RN
• For Cardiac Catheterization or other related procedural areas, one year of critical care experience in a hospital setting

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
• Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
• Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
