Job description

Salary: $30 - $40 / per hour

Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking a Novice Nurse (LPN/LVN) with less than 12 months of experience. The Novice Nurse is responsible for providing and documenting skilled nursing care according to individualized care plans and physician’s orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and contracted services.
2. Provide skilled nursing care in accordance with prescribed orders on each assignment.
3. Identify and document changes in patients' physiologic and psycho-social conditions.
4. Notify the Director/Supervisor regarding physician orders for interventions and changes in patient condition.
5. Follow Maxim's policies, procedures, and protocols.
6. Prioritize actions based on patient care requirements.
7. Ensure patient safety and the quality of services provided.
8. Document patient participation, care plans, outcomes, and interventions accurately.
9. Perform interventions, treatments, and medication administration as per care plans and policies.
10. Monitor and document the effectiveness of interventions and treatments.
11. Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients.
12. Ensure safety and proper functioning of the environment and equipment, including universal precautions.
13. Communicate effectively with patients and team members.
14. Report significant changes in patient status to the appropriate supervisor or case manager.
15. Document all care and communication in the medical record.
16. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and educational sessions.
17. Adhere to professional standards, including the Nurse Practice Act, and organizational policies.
18. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
2. Valid nursing license.
3. Maintain a minimum GPA, with consideration for exceptions with leadership approval.
4. Comply with professional standards and practice guidelines.
5. Provide a current resume detailing clinical hours and rotations.
6. Submit two references, preferably including a clinical instructor.
7. Current CPR certification.
8. PPD or chest X-Ray if applicable.
9. Successful completion of Maxim's Novice Nurse Program orientation and training.
