Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide pediatric home healthcare in Manchester, Iowa. The role pays $38 per hour with night shifts Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat/Sun. Employment offers weekly paychecks and comprehensive benefits through Maxim.

The RN will implement and monitor plans of care, administer medications, and coordinate education and discharge planning for patients in their homes, with emphasis on safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Current RN license for the state of practice.
• Current Health Certificate as required by facility contract or state regulation.
• Current PPD or Chest X-ray.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate client care using the nursing process.
• Initiate and adjust plan of care with prescriber input as patient needs change.
• Incorporate therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative nursing actions based on diagnosis and goals.
• Respond to changes in patient/client condition and communicate with physician or supervisor.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed; monitor and document effectiveness.
• Review care plans and educate patient/family; coordinate care and discharge planning.

Responsibilities:

• Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient/client care and/or services provided to client(s) receiving contracted services, as required
• Initiates the plan of care when directed and requests from prescriber any necessary revisions as patient status and needs change
• Incorporates therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative nursing actions based on patient diagnosis and established goals
• Intervenes as applicable in response to changes in patient/client condition and reports such changes to appropriate physician or supervisor
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, as well as, monitors and documents effectiveness of intervention
• Reviews plan of care and program protocols and identifies areas for healthcare teaching/education, care coordination, goal setting and discharge planning needs, as applicable

Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) License for the state in which the nurse practices.
• Current Health Certificate (per facility Registered Nurse (RN) contract or state regulation).
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
• Current BLS card.
• One year prior Registered Nurse (RN) experience preferred.
