Job summary

Boone Hospital Center is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a part-time night position at Boone ICU Nursing in Columbia, SC. You will provide direct care to high-acuity patients, including ventilated and post-surgical cases, and work in a multidisciplinary team with continuous learning opportunities.

The role offers a 24-hour per week schedule, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with a $5,000 sign-on incentive and weekend option with premium pay. Benefits begin on day one and parking is provided.

Qualifications

• RN Diploma/Associate Degree required.
• 2-5 years nursing experience.
• RN license/certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to acutely/critically ill patients in a highly technical monitoring environment.
• Educate patients and families on disease processes and care plans.
• Develop, implement and revise plans of care with the care team.
• Monitor patients with complex therapies and adjust treatments as needed.
• Promote safety and high-quality patient care and participate in ongoing learning.

These patients are facing life-threatening problems with varying needs, which require extensive medication protocols and therapies. Educates patients and their families on disease process, management of illness/injury/treatment, support resources, infection prevention techniques, and essential daily tasks to prepare for next transition of care.* Demonstrates competency in evaluating intensive care patients, administering care, recognizing complications and coordinating with other members of the critical care team.* Develops, implements, and revises individual plans of care in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care.* Evaluates patient's response to complex critical treatment modalities and modifies plan of care accordingly throughout the patient's stay. Demonstrates expertise and critical thinking skills to assess and evaluate patient's/family's physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.
