The Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Registered Nurse for the G70 Hematology and Oncology Unit. This night-shift role (7:00 pm–7:30 am) focuses on caring for adults undergoing chemotherapy and other cancer therapies, with a supportive, team-oriented culture.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, updating care plans, monitoring patient status, administering medications, coordinating discharge needs, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program).
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
  • One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting.
  • Will consider licensed military RN experience.

  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.

The G70 Hematology and Oncology Unit focuses on the diagnoses and treatment of various malignancies and hematologic diseases, from new diagnosis to the end of life. The dedicated caregivers on this unit provide the highest quality, safest care to adult patients receiving chemotherapy, targeted cancer therapies, radioactive iodine and other types of radiation therapies. G70 has a positive, team-oriented and supportive culture with daily 7am huddles for both the night shift and day shift to start/end their shift with an optimistic mindset. Within six months of starting on this unit, nurses can become "chemo-competent" and become experts at administering chemotherapy and understanding chemotherapy reactions.


A caregiver in this position works nights 7:00pm – 7:30am.


A caregiver who excels in this role will:



  • Provide direct nursing care.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Will consider licensed military RN experience


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:



  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)


Physical Requirements:



  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.


Personal Protective Equipment:



  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.


Pay Range


Minimum hourly: $35.50


Maximum hourly: $55.60
