Job summary

MEDIKO in Athens, GA is seeking a Health Services Administrator (RN) to oversee the correctional facility's healthcare operations, ensure compliance with HIPAA/NCCHC/ACA, manage staff and budgets, and partner with senior leadership to improve patient care and operational performance.

The role requires an active RN license, a relevant bachelor’s degree, 5–7 years of leadership in healthcare, and experience in regulated environments; CPR/BLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current, non-restricted Registered Nurse license in the state of the site facility.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in the healthcare industry, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role is preferred.
• Proven experience in managing healthcare operations in a correctional healthcare or similar regulated environment is highly preferred.
• Experience with regulatory compliance, including familiarity with NCCHC, ACA, and other healthcare standards relevant to the correctional setting is preferred.
• Certification in Healthcare Management (e.g., FACHE, CPHQ, CHC, or similar) is preferred.
• Active CPR/BLS certificate required (AHA/Red Cross guideline) for facilities located in correctional settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership to the medical unit(s), ensuring high standards of care and treatment for inmate patients.
• Mentor and develop staff, providing coaching, counseling, and performance management support.
• Oversee staffing levels and scheduling to meet contractual requirements and maintain compliance.
• Act as primary liaison between jail administration and MEDIKO, ensuring collaborative relationships.
• Oversee daily operations of the medical unit(s) to improve efficiency and workflow.
• Manage the facility's healthcare budget and procurement processes.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, NCCHC, ACA, and other relevant guidelines.
• Coordinate multiple medical services to ensure timely inmate diagnosis and treatment.
