Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Surgical Stepdown unit. The day shift is full-time with a 36-hour week and a $20,000 sign-on bonus for experienced RNs.

The role requires Missouri RN licensure (or compact licensure) and strong adherence to patient rights and confidentiality. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process, coordinating care across departments, and ensuring Mercy Service Standards are met, with focus on safety and quality

Qualifications

• Education requirements: ADN, Diploma, and BSN preferred or required per unit.
• Licensure: Missouri RN license or compact licensure in accordance with state board regulations.
• Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
• Certifications: BLS required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and maintains professional accountability.
• Evaluates care effectiveness provided by direct care givers and coordinates patient care with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of information in line with Mercy Service Standards.

Schedule: Day Shift | Full-Time | 36 hours/week

$20,000 Sign On Bonus for Experienced RN's!

Qualifications:

Education:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: BSN preferred
• Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
