Mercy Hospital Jefferson is seeking a Cardiac Med Intermediate RN for 36 hours per week, night shifts in Festus, MO. The unit is a progressive care setting for intermediate acuity, focusing on cardiac and respiratory patients without vents.

Qualifications

• RN with active Missouri (or compact) licensure.
• Graduated from a school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for all ages, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and comfort.
• Monitor and respond to patient conditions; ensure care aligns with nursing practice standards.
• Maintain compliance with Mercy Service Standards and nursing ethics.

Cardiac, Respiratory distress, Septic.

No vents. - Mainly serve cardiac patients, also acute respiratory (no vents/but high flow ) 02 needs/new bipap, etc. then mix of any other disease process in which the physicians determine patient is too sick for floor; but not yet ICU level of care.

Fast paced unit combining aspects of ED and ICU into one department--busyness of ED & critical care aspect of ICU.

Requires and builds strong assessment skills and teamwork

Qualifications

Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
