Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the GI/GU Surgical Unit at Texas Health Fort Worth. You will deliver direct patient care using the nursing process, assess patients, plan treatments, and collaborate with the care team on a busy post-operative unit.

This Magnet, Level I Trauma Center offers self-scheduling, career growth, and a supportive leadership team on a brand-new 20-to-36 bed unit.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required.
• BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire.
• 1-year experience as a registered nurse or the completion of an RN Residency program.
• 2+ years med surg experience as an RN in acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
