Job summary

Humboldt Park Health is looking for a Registered Nurse GI specialist for full-time day shifts with on-call duties. The role focuses on planning, providing, and documenting nursing care in adherence to physician orders and hospital policies.

Responsibilities include collaboration with the healthcare team, patient education at discharge, and sample collection for laboratory analysis. On-call responsibilities are included, with comprehensive benefits after 90 days.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license in Illinois.
  • Experience with GI procedures is a plus.
  • Ability to work day shifts with on-call requirement.

  • Communicates and collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to develop a plan of care to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
  • Charts observations and activities related to patient care in electronic health record.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Department Specific Duties And Responsibilities

Transfers after 9 month of service available

  • Administer Moderate sedation.
  • Answer patient questions and addressing their concerns.
  • Observe patient vital signs and document per protocol.
  • Monitor recovering patients after procedures.
  • Administer the necessary medication to patients.
  • Keep the patient informed throughout the duration of the procedure.
  • Complete all necessary documentation including patient notes and discharge documents.
  • Prepare the instruments, equipment and supplies for the procedure/ Room set-up.
  • Clean and sterilize equipment before use.
  • Providing assistance to doctors throughout the procedure.
  • Administering IV drips.
  • Familiar with endoscopic equipment.
  • Cross train to SDS or PACU.
  • On-Call responsibilities.
