Job summary

Harborview Medical Center's 9NJB Specialty Clinics in Seattle is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for General Surgery with coverage for other clinics. This 100% FTE, day shift position supports in-clinic procedures and preoperative teaching.

The RN will provide care coordination, wound care, and pre-assessment evaluations for multi-service patients within a multidisciplinary team. WA state or multi-state RN license and 2+ years surgical nursing experience required.

Qualifications

• Active WA State or Multi-State RN License by start date.
• At least 2 years of inpatient or outpatient surgical nursing experience.
• Wound care.

Responsibilities

• Serve the General Surgery clinic with support for the other clinics/specialties.
• Preoperative teaching.
• Wound care and assist with in-clinic procedures.
• Care coordination and patient education.
• Provide pre-assessment evaluation/intake assessments for patients seen in multi-service, multi-specialty.
• Demonstrate sterile technique for minor surgery setup and wound care (including suture/staple removal).
• Discharge planning and collaboration for patient discharge.
• Phone triaging.
