Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking an Registered Nurse (RN) for General Surgery 3W on a part-time schedule: 24 hours per week, nights 7:00pm–7:00am.

You will use the nursing process to provide patient care under supervision of licensed staff, ensuring patient rights and confidentiality. Qualifications include graduation from accredited nursing program, active RN license (state or compact), BLS within 30 days, and a minimum of 2 years of patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in hiring state (or compact licensure).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 2 years of patient care experience.

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Position Details:

Registered Nurse (RN) – General Surgery 3W

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule: Part time | 24 hours/week

Shift: Days 7:00pm - 7:00am

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Licensure

• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure where nursing duties are performed.
• Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certification

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisor experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Prolonged standing and walking during shifts.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
