Job summary

Mercy is seeking an Registered Nurse (RN) for the General Surgery 3W unit at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO. This part-time role covers a 24-hour per week schedule with day shifts (7:00pm–7:00am).

You will provide patient care under supervision and participate in coordinating care across departments. Ideal candidates bring at least 2 years of patient care experience, an active RN license (state or compact) and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Must hold an active RN license in the hiring state or compact license.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Position Details:

Registered Nurse (RN) – General Surgery 3W

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule: Part time | 24 hours/week

Shift: Days 7:00pm - 7:00am

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Licensure

• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure where nursing duties are performed.
• Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certification

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisor experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Prolonged standing and walking during shifts.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
