Job Description:

Starr Regional Medical Center is currently seeking talented individuals to fill the position of Registered Nurse – Float Pool in our MedSurg Department. This position is permanent, PRN.

Core Competencies:

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establishes a plan of care appropriate to identified problems, involving the patient according to their capabilities and desires.
• Performs interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living such as hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and mobility.
• Collaborates across disciplines for patient transfer, discharge, referral, and psychosocial support.
• Evaluates learning needs and provides education tailored to age, culture, and condition.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of care and addresses issues impacting patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education: Associate’s degree in Nursing (Required)

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

Required Licenses: RN license in Tennessee or a compact state

Required Skills & Certifications: BLS certification at the time of hire; ACLS and PALS certifications within 6 months for applicable departments
