Description: Starr Regional Medical Center is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Registered Nurse – Float Pool for our MedSurg Department. This job is permanent, PRN.

Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following:

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

• Documents patient care given.

• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.

• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and psychosocial support.

• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

• Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies issues affecting outcomes.

• Performs role-specific duties such as entering orders, admissions, discharges, and transfers.

• Responds to complaints about patient care and manages through established channels.

• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education

Associate’s degree in Nursing: Required

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing: Preferred

Required Licenses

Registered Nurse license in Tennessee or another compact state

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required at hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - within 6 months of hire for Emergency Services and ICU
