Job summary

Concord Hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join the RN Premium Float Team, offering exposure to medical/surgical and critical care units across the hospital. You will apply a broad range of clinical skills and advance your nursing competencies in a dynamic environment.

The role requires NH RN licensure, BLS, and at least one year of nursing experience. BSN preferred, with opportunities for professional growth within a nationally recognized health system.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Registered Nurse license with New Hampshire Board of Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association).
• One year of clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Apply clinical judgment to plan and implement nursing interventions.
• Gather data through history and physical assessment to plan care.
• Develop and revise patient care plans and nursing actions.
• Document patient progress and care provided.
• Direct and supervise delegated nursing activities.
• Teach patients and families about the plan of care.
• Prepare patients for discharge or procedure/test.
• Administer medications and provide direct patient care.
• Lead the care team and serve as a resource for shifts.
• Preceptor for new staff.

The float team offers you the opportunity to use your diverse clinical skills and competencies in a variety of acute care settings. This float team position will offer exposure to a variety of medical/ surgical and critical care units across the hospital and provide you with an opportunity to further develop your skill base.

Education

Experience

One year prior clinical nursing experience. Evidence of experience in working effectively and positively with patients, care providers, and the multi-disciplinary team. Evidence of the ability to perform as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Bases nursing actions by applying principles of purposeful, organized thinking to make clinical judgment/decisions.
• Gathers data through history taking and physical assessment and interprets data in order to plan and implement interventions to meet patient care needs.
• Develops, evaluates and revises patient's plan of care and nursing actions in response to patient's needs.
• Documents care provided and patient's progress toward attainment of desired outcomes.
• Directs and supervises others in the performance of delegated nursing activities.
• Teaches the patient and/or significant other(s) about the plan of care.
• Prepares patients to manage their care after discharge, transfer or preparation for procedure/test.
• Manages time and resources to deliver patient care.
• Administers medications to patients.
• Provides direct patient care.
• Leads the health care team.
• Serves as a Resource Person for assigned shift.
• Serves as a preceptor for new employees.
• Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned.
