Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Internal Float Pool. This full-time night shift (7pm–7am), 36 hours weekly, offers a competitive benefits package and EOE.

Nurses will cover multiple inpatient units, providing direct patient care from admission through discharge and supporting various units as staffing demands shift. Ideal candidates have at least two years of acute care experience, and possess PCU/Neuro competency.

Qualifications

• Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider required upon hire.
• ACLS for Healthcare Provider required upon hire.
• NIHSS certification required upon hire.
• PALS for Healthcare Provider required (obtained within 1 year of hire).
• Minimum of two years nursing experience required.
• Previous experience in intermediate level of care preferred.

Job Duties

The Internal Float Pool Nurse has the responsibility and accountability for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge. The Internal Float Pool Nurse will be able to provide intermediate level of care to patients in various inpatient units upon staffing needs.

About the Department

The Internal Float Pool consists of seasoned, experienced nurses who can work on any inpatient unit that is in need of additional staffing. The Internal Float Pool reports to their specific Supervisor who provides guidance when issues present. The House Managers will allocate staff to the greatest need in the hospital. Nurses need a minimum of two years recent acute care nursing experience in the hospital setting. Nurses must be PCU and Neuro competent. Critical Care and Emergency Department experience is welcomed.
