Responsibilities
Job Summary
- The Float RN must adapt to all inpatient acute units and be able to build relationships quickly with patients, coworkers, and physicians.
- This Registered Nurse role is responsible for providing a wide variety of professional nursing services focused on delivering quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards, values, applicable regulatory requirements, and scope of nursing practice.
- The work includes developing, implementing, and assessing the patient care plan during the stay in collaboration with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and the patient/family.
- The incumbent engages in direct patient care, including assessing, planning, coordinating, evaluating, and delegating work to the patient care team, as well as providing education and consultation to patients, families, physicians, and staff to implement appropriate nursing interventions for optimal care.
Qualifications
Licensure / Credentials
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school; BSN degree is preferred.
- Minimum 6 months of RN experience required.
- One year of related work experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
- ACLS certification within one year of hire.
- Specialty certification relevant to the work unit is strongly preferred.
