Job summary

TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville is seeking a Float Pool Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across departments.

You will collaborate with the care team, document thoroughly, educate patients and families, and uphold standards of practice to ensure excellent outcomes.

This role requires RN licensure, ADN, and ACLS/BLS with timely onboarding and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the practicing state or compact state.
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• PALS must be obtained within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient’s condition at admission and during shifts and report changes.
• Administer medications and monitor therapeutic responses with accurate documentation.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively meet needs.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up plans.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As aFloat Pool Nurse, you willbe responsible fordelivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.

• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough andtimelydocumentation of care administration in the patient's medical record. - Administer prescribed medications,monitorthe patient for therapeutic response, and takeappropriate actionin the event ofan unintended response to the medication.

• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactivelyanticipatingpatient needs, and resolving them.

• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications,possible sideeffects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice or compact staterequired

• Associate’s Degree in Nursingrequired

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date

• Basic Cardiac Life Support(BLS)must be obtained within30 daysof employment start date

• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within30 daysof employment start date

• Pediatric AdvancedLife Support (PALS)must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
