Job summary

Glen Haven Health & Rehabilitation in Northport, AL is seeking a flexible Registered Nurse (RN) Float Nurse for the 7:00 AM-3:00 PM day shift. This full-time role supports multiple units, provides clinical care, medication administration, and resident assessment as needed.

You’ll join a team under new leadership focused on quality care, teamwork, and resident safety. Base pay ranges from $31 to $40.40 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Current Alabama RN license in good standing.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care or geriatric settings preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to adapt quickly and work across different nursing units.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and long-term care setting.
• Float between nursing units based on resident care and staffing needs.
• Assess, monitor, and document resident conditions and health changes.
• Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions per physician orders.
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in resident condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, pharmacy, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Assist with individualized resident assessments and care planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic nursing documentation.
• Supervise, mentor, and support LPNs and CNAs.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Promote resident safety, infection prevention, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
