Mercy OR handles a variety of cases including Orthopedics, Neurology, and General Services. RNs are typically assigned to one of these specialty pods, with opportunities to cross-train in other areas.

Proposed Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts, Four 10-hour shifts, or Five 8-hour shifts (Days)

The RN First Assistant practices perioperative nursing, acquiring the necessary knowledge, skills, and judgment through organized instruction and supervised practice to assist the surgeon during operations. Activities must be supervised by a surgeon.

Qualifications:

1. Licensure: Must hold a current RN license or Temporary Permit in Missouri.
2. Experience: Minimum of 1 year intraoperative experience.
3. Certifications:
   • CNOR and RN-First Assistant classes required within one year of hire/transfer.
   • BLS/ACLS required within the first year.
4. Preferred Education: BSN Degree.
5. Preferred Experience: Three or more years intraoperative experience.
6. Preferred Certifications: CNOR, CRNFA.
