Job summary

Des Peres Square Surgery Center in St. Louis, MO is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) to deliver safe, family-centered perioperative care as an RN first assistant during operative procedures.

This role covers the perioperative continuum; weekdays only with no holidays or weekends or on-call, some evenings; competitive salary and benefits for the right candidate. Active MO RN license, RNFA program graduate, ACLS required; strong communication and decision-making needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing and RNFA program.
• Active RN license in the state.
• RNFA program completion and ACLS required.
• Ability to make nursing-judgment based decisions.
• Prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Serve as RN first assistant during operative procedures.
• Provide perioperative patient-family centered care.
• Relieve OR RN and OR CST for breaks and lunch as needed.
• Assist with OR turnover and room preparation for cases.
• Perform other duties assigned by OR leadership.
