Job summary

Mercy St Louis Hospital is seeking an RN First Assist in the Main Operating Room on a PRN basis. You will apply the nursing process to provide patient care and support the surgical team in a fast-paced Level I trauma center.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year perioperative nursing experience, active RN licensure, and BLS/ACLS; CNOR or RN-FA preferred. Mercy offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 1-year perioperative nursing experience.
• BLS/ACLS certification within the first year.
• CNOR certification and/or RN-First Assistant preferred

• 27 Operating Rooms
• Seven specialty teams, including:
  • General Surgery
  • Gynecologic Surgery
  • Urologic Surgery
  • Robotic Surgery
  • Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT)
  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • Neurosurgery
• Four state-of-the-art surgical robots

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Licensure: Active RN licensure in the state of practice.
Experience: Must have a minimum of 1-year perioperative nursing experience.
Certifications: BLS/ACLS required within first year.
Other: Demonstrates continued competence in assisting and in perioperative nursing.
Preferred: CNOR certification and/or RN-First Assistant certification class preferred
