Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department in Summit, New Jersey, on a 13-week contract. The night shift runs from 7 PM to 7 AM, with holiday coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in Critical Care/Cardiac or Emergency Department.
• RN license required; BLS/ACLS required; PALS required for pediatric ER only.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department provides comprehensive nursing care to patients across the lifespan, from pediatric to geriatric. This role requires thorough assessments, effective patient care delivery, and adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals.

Responsibilities

• Conduct systematic and comprehensive assessments of patients, ensuring accurate documentation in the patient’s chart.
• Demonstrate competent clinical skills while performing direct patient care activities in a team-centered environment.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation in alignment with nursing process and patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate professionalism by adhering to policies, procedures, and identifying areas for clinical growth.
• Foster patient satisfaction by responding to patients, families, and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner while upholding patient confidentiality.
• Follow safety protocols effectively, identifying patients with two patient identifiers and utilizing safe transfer techniques.
• Individualize patient care based on specific conditions, procedures, and anesthesia types.
• Contribute to the perioperative team by prioritizing and directing patient care based on changing needs.
• Assess patient understanding of surgical procedures and provide pre-operative and post-operative education.
• Evaluate Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for completeness and appropriateness.

Required Experience
