Job description

Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients in the ER

Assess patient condition rapidly and prioritize care using triage protocols

Adhere to evidence-based guidelines and institutional policies for patient safety

Utilize performance metrics and productivity dashboards to meet targets

Document patient findings, treatments, and outcomes in electronic health records

Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient throughput and transfers

Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards

Demonstrate continuous learning through certifications, training, and skill development

Monitor and manage invasive lines, monitors, and IV therapies per protocol

Deliver patient and family education about diagnosis, care plan, and post-discharge steps

Identify potential quality and process improvement opportunities within the ER

Experience/Qualifications

Current RN Texas/Compact License

Active ACLS, TNCC and BLS certifications; PALS optional based on ER needs

Proficient triage using ESI or equivalent; rapid assessment skills

Compliance with regulatory standards (HIPAA, Joint Commission) and patient safety

Strong documentation in EHR; accurate coding and data entry

Ability to manage invasive lines, IV therapies, monitors per protocol

Evidence-based practice adherence; participation in quality improvement projects

Excellent communication with multidisciplinary team and patient education
