Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department in Owasso, Oklahoma, working night shifts (18:45–07:15) on a 13-week contract. The ED handles around 57 daily patients across 12 rooms, with emphasis on trauma and acute psychiatric cases in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have ED experience, charge nurse familiarity preferred, and must hold an Oklahoma or Compact RN license along with ACLS, BLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications.

Qualifications

• Active registered nurse license in Oklahoma or compact state.
• ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS certifications required.
• PALS and TNCC certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the Emergency Department.
• Assess and manage abdominal pain, asthma, overdose, and respiratory infections.
• Perform phlebotomy and manage IVs, including starting and maintaining IVs and administering blood products.
• Utilize Epic for patient documentation.
• Administer emergency medications and assist with procedures (e.g., chest tube management, central line care).
• Support patients with mental/behavioral health conditions and ensure safety protocols.
• Triage patients and respond to emergencies effectively.

Job Description

The Emergency Department at our community hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team. The unit features 12 rooms and handles a daily census of approximately 57 patients. The ideal candidate will have experience in emergency medicine and be comfortable managing various critical cases, including trauma and acute psychiatric conditions, as well as performing necessary procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Assess and manage patients experiencing abdominal pain, asthma, drug overdose, and respiratory infections.
• Perform phlebotomy and manage IVs, including starting and maintaining IVs and administering blood products.
• Utilize charting system Epic for patient documentation.
• Administer emergency medications and assist with procedures like chest tube management and central line care.
• Support patients with mental/behavioral health conditions and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Triage patients and respond to emergencies effectively.

Required Experience

• Previous charge experience is preferred.
• Experience with a patient ratio of 4-5 is highly regarded.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current RN license in Oklahoma or Compact state.
• ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS certifications required.
• PALS and TNCC certifications are preferred.
