Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department in Cambridge, Maryland. This is a 13-week contract position for a Day shift (3x12) from 07:00 to 19:30, with every other weekend and holiday coverage required.

The RN will provide critical care in a fast-paced ED, serving both adult and pediatric patients with complex diagnoses. Licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS and NIHSS certifications are required; CPI preferred. Epic charting experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting.
• Experience with Epic charting system.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer emergency medications.
• Conduct triage and assessment of patients upon arrival.
• Perform procedural sedation administration and monitoring.
• Assist in intubation and management of central lines and chest tubes.
• Handle acute psychiatric conditions and manage violent behavior.
• Provide care for a range of conditions including abdominal pain, asthma, drug overdoses, and more.
• Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs.
• Administer IV vasopressors and manage phlebotomy tasks.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide critical care in a fast-paced General Emergency Department, serving both adult and pediatric patients with complex, multi-system diagnoses. The facility is STEMI Certified and Stroke Certified. The role requires the ability to float within the specialty and other sister Shore Regional Health EDs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer emergency medications.
• Conduct triage and assessment of patients upon arrival.
• Perform procedural sedation administration and monitoring.

Required Experience

Certifications/Licensure

• Active RN license in Maryland or Compact License.
• BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and NIHSS certifications required.
• CPI certification preferred; the Calm Every Storm online version is acceptable.
