Description:This is a professional position responsible for the coordination of outpatient and inpatient services.This position will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate services provided for patients.This role is responsible for linking the hospital and physicians by providing services for inpatients and outpatients.Services include preadmission nursing assessments, testing, care, and coordinating inpatient and outpatient procedures with appropriate groups.Post-procedure care and assessment of inpatient and outpatient procedure patients is also included.Promotes quality patient care by establishing and monitoring standards of care.May function as a designated charge nurse.Supervision may be exercised over LPNs, Endoscopy Technicians, Client Aides, and unit Patient Access Representatives.Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team to provide safe, comprehensive patient care efficiently and cost-effectively.Administers optimal patient care by providing the physician with appropriate equipment and supplies for each procedure.Participates in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrates accuracy in data collection and updating patient records.Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and staff.Disinfects and organizes equipment and supplies used during procedures.Educates patients and families on aspects of health care that promote health and well-being, reinforcing the physician's instructions.Develops, implements, and monitors appropriate standards, policies, and procedures.Accountable for all information and in-service education disseminated via computer, postings, and staff meetings.Develops and maintains professional relationships while being positive and flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities.Good dexterity is required for this role.Exerts 10-25 pounds of pushing force frequently and may occasionally exert up to 75 pounds.May carry 10-15 pounds and rarely lift a maximum of 50 pounds.Constant walking and standing is required.This position involves intermittent stooping, crouching, kneeling, overhead and below-level reaching, and lifting.
