Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN) Endoscopy

Location: Mason City, IA

Facility: MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Shift:

• 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
• Days, Monday - Friday
  
  

Job Summary: The RN Endoscopy will provide patient care in the endoscopy unit, assisting with various procedures such as colonoscopies, gastroscopies, and other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The RN will work closely with gastroenterologists and other healthcare team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures, ensuring they are informed and comfortable.
• Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures, maintaining a sterile environment.
• Monitor patient vitals and comfort during and after procedures.
• Administer medications and IV sedations as required.
• Provide post-procedure care and education to patients and their families.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
• Ensure all endoscopy equipment is properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained.
• Adhere to all infection control policies and protocols.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of Iowa.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Previous experience in endoscopy or related field preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.
  
  

Additional Information:

• This is a 13-week contract position with shifts from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
• No weekend or on-call duties required.
