This Emergency Acute Care Nurse opportunity is with a mission-driven, award-winning rural healthcare organization committed to exceptional patient safety and community wellness. Backed by advanced clinical technologies including a modern EHR, bedside ultrasound, telehealth consults, and data-driven quality dashboards, the Emergency Department RN team delivers evidence-based outcomes that matter. A culture of recognition, continuous improvement, and professional development fuels the ER Nurse practice from day one. National accolades for patient experience and safety, robust simulation training, and strong community philanthropy underscore a reputation as an employer of choice.

As part of a nimble critical access hospital, the Emergency Acute Care Nurse cares for patients across the lifespan in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The ED Nurse collaborates with hospitalists, respiratory therapy, laboratory, and imaging, with rapid access to tele-specialists and air medical transport when escalation is required. With thoughtfully designed workflows, point-of-care testing, and streamlined transfer protocols, the ER Registered Nurse maintains focus on stabilization and timely coordination of care. A tight-knit, cross-trained team ensures that the Acute Care RN role remains both versatile and well-supported.

Reporting to an experienced Emergency Services Nurse Manager, the Emergency Acute Care Nurse is supported by engaged charge nurses, clinical educators, and a diverse, friendly interprofessional team. Collaborative rounding with physicians and APPs, rapid access to pharmacy and respiratory care, and proactive staffing practices sustain safe, compassionate care. Core responsibilities for the Emergency Department RN include rapid triage, comprehensive head-to-toe assessment, hemodynamic and cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia recognition, medication safety following the seven rights, and precise documentation. The ER Nurse also leads pain assessment and management, initiates IV therapies and fluids, performs waived testing with interpretation, and champions a just culture of safety and quality.

Set in a welcoming small-town hub with big-outdoor energy, the Emergency Acute Care Nurse can enjoy miles of hiking and biking trails, lakes and rivers for paddling and fishing, and nearby winter sports under starry skies. Weekend concerts, farmers markets, and community festivals pair with local eateries, craft coffee, and breweries for a vibrant yet relaxed lifestyle.
