Job summary

Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services is seeking an RN to serve as Patient Flow Coordinator in the Emergency Department. You will streamline patient placement, monitor throughput, and lead staff to enhance safety and patient experience.

The role requires RN licensure with BLS, with ACLS/TNCC preferred, and an Associate degree in nursing. BSN is a plus, and prior ED experience is highly valued. Strong communication and computer skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• RN licensure and BLS certification required.
• ACLS and TNCC preferred.
• Associate degree in nursing; BSN preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, RN, or ED roles advantageous.
• Strong communication and computer skills; ability to obtain vital signs manually.

Responsibilities

• Oversee patient flow by monitoring the department and coordinating patient placement and movement.
• Participate in policy development and provide performance feedback to leadership.
• Conduct rounding in triage, waiting areas, and patient rooms to monitor progress.
• Lead and supervise staff in prioritizing tasks, decision-making, and communication to improve patient experience and safety.
• Evaluate healthcare delivery processes and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
• Act as liaison with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist with emergency preparedness and contribute to departmental goals.
