Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking an Emergency Department RN to join our fast-paced, patient-centered ED in Washington. This full-time position offers variable start times (11:00, 13:00, 15:00) and a signing bonus/relocation potential.

You will deliver life-saving care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support patients across ages and acuities. Ideal applicants are an accredited nursing program graduate with RN licensure, BLS on hire, and ED experience or orientation.

Qualifications

  • RN licensure in good standing
  • BLS certification upon hire
  • Minimum one year of ED experience or orientation in ED
  • Proven ability to independently manage cardiac emergencies, complex medical-surgical, pediatric, and multi-trauma patients

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs in the ED
  • Identify and respond to emergent and life-threatening conditions
  • Care for diverse patient populations including cardiac, trauma, medical-surgical, and pediatric cases
  • Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Document care accurately and per standards
  • Delegate and direct care based on team competencies
  • Participate in quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Maintain clinical excellence through continuing education and professional growth

PeaceHealth is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our highly skilled team in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. This full-time position offers variable start times of 1100, 1300 and 1500, providing flexibility while supporting one of the most dynamic departments in healthcare.

Hiring bonus and relocation assistance may be available.

Pay Range: $45.78 - $82.98 per hour

Compensation is based on experience, education, training, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and other relevant factors.

What You'll Do

As an Emergency Department RN, you will provide expert clinical care while serving as a critical member of the interdisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care needs
  • Rapidly identifying and responding to emergent and life-threatening conditions
  • Managing diverse patient populations, including cardiac, trauma, medical-surgical, and pediatric patients
  • Collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Documenting patient care accurately and in accordance with professional and organizational standards
  • Delegating and directing care appropriately based on team member competencies
  • Participating in quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Maintaining clinical excellence through continuing education and professional growth
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire
  • Minimum one year of recent Emergency Department experience, or currently oriented and independently practicing within an Emergency Department
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage:
    • Cardiac emergencies
    • Complex medical-surgical patients
    • Pediatric patients
    • Multiple trauma patients
  • Proven clinical competence in emergency nursing practice
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Department Certifications

The following certifications are required within the specified timeframes:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 6 months
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 6 months
  • NIHSS (Stroke Scale Certification) within 6 months
  • TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) within 12 months
