Job summary

Sarah Bush Lincoln is seeking a Registered Nurse for night shifts in the Emergency Department. You will provide individualized patient care under clinical leadership, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care on the assigned shift.

Responsibilities include patient assessment at admission, medication administration, care coordination, and education for patients and families. Weekend and holiday rotations are required, with compensation starting at 39.12 per hour plus shift differential.

Qualifications

• ADN required.
• ACLS within 90 days of hire.
• BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• RN-Registered Nurse license (IL)

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments according to protocol.
• Completes admissions assessment and collects relevant health data.
• Coordinates admission, discharge and transfer planning with the care team.
• Manages bed and patient care assignments across shifts to ensure continuity.
• Documents care provided and updates physicians and team members.
• Optimizes unit workflow and monitors care quality across the team.
• Performs triage assessments as needed.
• Collaborates with disciplines and refers to OP Care Coordinator as appropriate.
• Educates patients and families and coordinates post-discharge referrals.
• Responds promptly to patient calls and needs while ensuring compassionate care.

Job Description

Registered Nurses are responsible for the assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care delivery. The Registered Nurse providers clinical leadership to the patient care team for the assigned shift.

2 shifts per week - 7:00pm - 7:30am

Pay based on experience starting at $39.12 + shift and weekend differential apply with weekend and holiday rotation

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments according to protocol. Clarifies and reviews physician's orders and takes appropriate action.
• Completes the assessment upon admission. Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient's health or the situation. Recognizes normal and abnormal findings when gathering data. Assessments based on patient's communication of information and need, existing signs and symptoms, current patient data, and nursing knowledge.
• Coordinates admission, discharge and transfer planning with all team members.
• Coordinates bed and patient care assignments during shift and in preparation for the next shift to ensure consistency in care delivery.
• Documents and reports care delivered to the physicians and other team members as needed. Documents accurate and ongoing assessments of patient. Assures that documentation reflects changes in patient condition and notification to appropriate individual has occurred.
• Enhances patient care and efficiency of unit by optimizing workflow of all team members. Monitors and evaluates the care provided by team members (including lab and radiology) and initiates action to ensure optimal patient care.
• Performs appropriate triage assessments.
• Plans and evaluates care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines and makes referral to the OP Care Coordinator as appropriate.
• Provides and coordinates patient and family education and utilizes referral agencies to promote patient's management of own healthcare. Keeps both patient and significant others informed.
• Responds to patient's call light and other indicators for assistance promptly and courteously to meet patient's needs.

Compensation

Estimated Compensation Range

$39.12 - $60.64
