Job summary

45 Fayette County Hospital’s Emergency Department is seeking a Registered Nurse to perform comprehensive patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation on the shift.

The RN will provide clinical leadership within the care team, administer medications, and coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers. Shifts are 7:00pm–7:30am, two nights per week, with weekend/holiday rotation and pay starting at $39.12/hour, plus shift differentials.

Qualifications

• ADN is required and must be active.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• RN license with Illinois state regulatory board (IDPR) and active status.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments per protocol.
• Reviews physician orders and takes appropriate action.
• Completes admission assessments.
• Coordinates admission, discharge and transfer planning.
• Documents care and notifies physicians as needed.
• Monitors patient condition and responds to call lights promptly.

RN Emergency Department Job Description Registered Nurses are responsible for the assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care delivery. The Registered Nurse providers clinical leadership to the patient care team for the assigned shift.

2 shifts per week - 7:00pm - 7:30am Pay based on experience starting at $39.12 + shift and weekend differential apply with weekend and holiday rotation

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments according to protocol.
• Clarifies and reviews physician's orders and takes appropriate action.
• Completes the assessment upon admission.
• Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient's health or the situation.
• Recognizes normal and abnormal findings when gathering data.
• Assesses based on patient's communication of information and need, existing signs and symptoms, current patient data, and nursing knowledge.
• Coordinates admission, discharge and transfer planning with all team members.
• Coordinates bed and patient care assignments during shift and in preparation for the next shift to ensure consistency in care delivery.
• Documents and reports care delivered to the physicians and other team members as needed.
• Documents accurate and ongoing assessments of patient.
• Assures that documentation reflects changes in patient condition and notification to appropriate individual has occurred.
• Enhances patient care and efficiency of unit by optimizing workflow of all team members.
• Monitors and evaluates the care provided by team members (including lab and radiology) and initiates action to ensure optimal patient care.
• Performs appropriate triage assessments.
• Plans and evaluates care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines and makes referral to the OP Care Coordinator as appropriate.
• Provides and coordinates patient and family education and utilizes referral agencies to promote patient's management of own healthcare.
• Keeps both patient and significant others informed.
• Responds to patient's call light and other indicators for assistance promptly and courteously to meet patient's needs.

Requirements

• ADN (Required)ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 90 Days of hire)
• Sarah Bush Lincoln, BLS or CPR certification (within 90 days of hire)
• Sarah Bush Lincoln, RN-Registered Nurse - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation

Compensation Estimated Compensation Range $39.12 - $60.64 Pay based on experience
