Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital in Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse for PRN night shifts in the Emergency Department. You will deliver direct nursing care, collaborate with teammates and support families in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires assessing patient needs, updating care plans, administering medications, and ensuring safe discharge planning. You will adhere to best practices and participate in ongoing education to stay on the leading edge of patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program and hold RN licensure in Florida.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS within one year of hire.
• TNCC or ENPC either at hire or within 24 months.

As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.

How You’ll Benefit

• Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources.

This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working nights between 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with weekend and holiday requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within one year of hire
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within 24 months of hire
• One year of current acute care RN experience and/or Emergency Department (ED) experience OR licensed military RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Prior (recent) ER experience
• Acute care experience (Tele/stepdown/MedSurg
• 1.5 years of experience
