Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. The role includes night shifts with weekend and holiday rotation, and a $4,000 new hire sign-on for candidates with 2+ years ED RN experience.

The ED is a Level II Adult Trauma Center where RNs access new technologies, professional development, and leadership supports, with collaborative pediatric care partnerships.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent is required.
• Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
• Three (3) months experience is preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or be exempt by signing a statement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients under direction of the Manager, Patient Services.
• Participate in patient and family teaching and provide leadership with the nursing team.
• Maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the assigned unit.
• Ensure care appropriate to the age group regularly served.

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent

Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Three (3) months experience (preferred)

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Vaccination against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 (or approved exemption)

Hours: 32hrs

Shift: Night shift, 11:15pm -7:15am with weekend and holiday rotation

Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

Our RNs have access to new technologies, professional development resources, and an engaged leadership team. We partner with pediatricians from Boston Children’s Hospital to provide specialized care in the emergency room and pediatric unit.

Under direction of the Manager, Patient Services or designee of individual assigned unit, perform a variety of duties involving coordinating total nursing care for patients, participating in patient and family teaching and providing leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice within an assigned patient care unit. Has knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which is appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served.

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

Pay Range

USD $42.37 - USD $77.81 /Hr.
