Job summary

CarolinaEast Health System is seeking an Electrophysiology Registered Nurse to provide patient care during diagnostic and interventional EP lab procedures. You will prep and recover patients, perform moderate sedation, monitor vitals, and ensure continuity of care in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires NC RN licensure, nursing degree, and up-to-date BLS/ACLS certifications with ACLS obtained within 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an approved School of Professional Nursing.
  • Licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Two years’ Critical Care nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient care in the EP lab, including peri-procedural prep and recovery.
  • Perform moderate sedation and monitor vital signs.
  • Maintain continuity of care and prepare procedure charts.

Job description

** Sign on bonus of $20,000.00 for qualified, full time candidates

Job Summary

Performs the patient care aspect of diagnostic and interventional EP lab procedures. Preps and recovers patient pre/post procedure. Performs moderate sedation and records vital signs. Maintains continuity of care for patients while they are in the electrophysiology lab, prepares charts for procedures. Operate POC testing as required. The Electrophysiology Registered Nurse must be able to maintain calm while being effective and accurate in critical situations, foster an environment of collaboration and respect, and maintains a positive approach to working in a fast paced environment.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Graduate from an approved School of Professional Nursing. Licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and two (2) years’ experience as a Critical Care Nurse preferred.
  • Maintain BLS certification. ACLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment and maintain current
  • The Registered Nurse must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on this unit.
  • The individual must demonstrate the knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the departments policies and procedures
