Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking an experienced Nursing Educator to lead clinical education and evaluation for nursing and patient care staff in a specialized area. You will facilitate evidence-based research and collaborate with practitioners to integrate nursing processes into care plans for a defined patient group.

The role involves developing educational curricula, coordinating in-service trainings, and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission standards.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
• State licensure as a registered nurse.
• BLS certification is required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
• One year of teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides educational leadership to patients and care providers to enhance specialized patient care within established clinical protocols.
• Assists patients and caregivers with educational needs, problem resolution and health management across the continuum of care.
• Collaborates with medical providers, patient care staff and unit management in planning, implementing, and delivering educational curricula.
• Initiates clinical skills development programs and monitors trends to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Provides direct specialized nursing services to an assigned group of patients within nursing protocols.
• Develops patient care plans incorporating evidence-based research and national standards.
• Educates staff in new equipment, supplies, and instruments; coordinates in-service training.
• Ensures proper care in equipment use; promotes safety and environmental practices.
• Acts as a resource to individuals and departments and seeks outside consultation when needed.
• Maintains knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing literature.
